Happy New Year everyone! May 2021 come with great blessings and lots and lots of volunteering!
To celebrate, Shalom Corps would like to do a short recap of what we have done in the past twelve months. Are you ready?
In 2020, Shalom Corps worked towards launching the Local Model during the Covid-19. In a year of great hardships, we are excited to announce the launch of 25 Local Projects in 2021, across 12 countries in all six continents. During a world pandemic, we are so happy to see the world unite around volunteering, Jewish Service and helping the others.
In addition, Shalom Corps took part in the Heritage Project, done in collaboration with the US Commission for the Preservation of American Heritage Abroad, to support Hillel’s volunteer work in Belarus to restore ancient headstones. The idea is to connect volunteers with Judaism, through History.
Moreover, we have worked with IsrAID and CADENA in the Emergency Response Initiative and have already successfully helped people in crisis. We are currently exploring the concept of Reserves Corps to create a holistic global network of emergency response volunteers. Exciting, no?
Finally, we are so proud to announce two new incredible partnerships, with OLAM and the Jewish Federation of Toronto. Welcome aboard!
Thank you for following Shalom Corps this year. Keep posted for more updates to come.
