We are starting this week by introducing you to JCC Chicago
•
JCC Chicago is deeply committed to community service. Every year, teens across the agency volunteer through a myriad of program, supporting food banks, feeding their community and connecting with seniors. While they have many role models, the JCC Chicago Women’s Board is the ultimate example of volunteerism, giving time and service to organizations throughout the community. Last year, teens gathered for a program reunion where they bought food from Jewel and donated it to The Ark. Teens also helped prepare food in the Camp Chi kitchen, extending their camp experience through meaningful service. Finally, Karen Sperber, Women’s Board President, has selected Bernie’s Book Bank as an annual service project; Karen is pictured holding a book reflecting the same title of a Women’s Board grant initiative, Imagine That!

Shalom Corps is very happy to have them join our Local Initiative, to implement our Virtual After School project, and we are excited to do meaningful service together throughout 2021. Let’s get to work!
